Additional Items of Note:
Work experience remuneration has generally ranged from minimum wage to as high as $1900-2000/week, depending on the employer. Expenses incurred by candidates during the completion of client work or other office-related activities should be reimbursed directly to the candidate. LPP Work Experience must be: a) located in the Province of Ontario and b) full-time (at least 35 working hours per week).

As per the Law Society of Ontario (subject to change), the Mandatory Minimum Compensation (MMC) is $718 per week for all Ontario-based articling and Law Practice Program (LPP) work placements that begin on or after October 1, 2026 (LPP website updated May 2026).

The typical expectation is a minimum of 7 working hours per day, Monday to Friday, in accordance with LSO guidelines for both articling and the LPP. We consider 7 hours per day to be the standard reference point for placements, recognizing that there may be peak periods requiring additional reasonable hours (e.g., trials, closings, etc.).
