We are very excited to welcome Fariya Walji to our LPP Team, who starts today as our Assistant Director, Professional Development and Work Placements.
Prior to joining the LPP, Fariya was Crown Counsel for the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario) specializing in litigation. During her career as an advocate, Fariya participated in a number of initiatives relating to diversity and inclusion, stakeholder engagement, and led the recruitment, mentorship, and professional development of students and young lawyers.
Fariya studied law at the University of Windsor, where she was a recipient of the J.W. Whiteside Award in recognition of providing outstanding services to the Faculty of Law and to her community. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, speed-reading, and world-traveling with her husband.
We welcome Fariya and look forward to having her build our professional development programming and supporting our incoming Candidates.
